Nominated for four Washington Area Music Awards in 2016, Wenzel has come into his own as one of the DC region’s most recognizable, unique performers and songwriters. A saxophonist, guitarist, and singer/songwriter, Ken has been described as a purveyor of restless Midwestern sentimentality, who searches in his songs for the kinds of truth that’s often best found within oneself. A Maryland native, Shane Gamble embodies what it means to be a working musician. Shane attacks his guitar with passion and sings jangly songs about the good times with a distinctly American feel. Close your eyes and imagine if Tom Petty or Bruce Springsteen were to emerge now on Country radio, then added a modern twist—that’s Shane. In 2013, Shane enjoyed the success of his debut album and the Top 10 single, “Turn My Way,” a pop/country tune that is equal parts punchy and poignant. Shane is back with his much-anticipated sophomore effort, American Heart — 12 tracks that showcase his rare ability to seamlessly blend Country, Rock, Pop and Americana. Shane spent nearly two years perfecting the songs on American Heart, co-writing lyrics with heavy-hitting Nashville players like Derric Ruttan, Andrew Dorf and Zac Molloy. In studio, Gamble worked closely with Rick Beato, who not only produced “Turn My Way,” but also produced albums by NEEDTOBREATHE, Shinedown and Charlie Mars, as well as Parmalee’s number one hit, “Carolina.”

Jan Edmondson and Jeff Comparin (Jan and Jeff), a fantastic musical duo, are a big hit with our customers. Each artist brings their musical skills to a unique song list (including “Back On The Chain Gang,” with homage to our wine club!). Their years of combined playing experience produce intricate guitar work and tight vocal harmonies. Jan is classically trained with a love of popular songs. Jeff plays tons of open chords with fingerpicking and flat pick styles. They make Taylor (Jan) and Martin (Jeff) guitars play nicely in the sandbox. All of this results in non-standard but certainly recognizable arrangements of your favorite tunes spanning decades and genres. Each artist strives to enhance what the other is doing to create those special moments of sonic goodness. Just as grapes with time and the right conditions produce fine wine, Jan and Jeff’s experience and dedication produce some fine music. Come listen, you’ll enjoy.
