An 89 Rating and Editors’ Choice Award, Wine Enthusiast, November 2013. 96% Merlot from Furnace Mountain Vineyard and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon from Tranquility Vineyard. Aged 22 months in both American and French barrels, with a rich licorice nose, followed by an incredible mouthfeel and long finish.
2010 Furnace Mountain Red Reserve
A blend of Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot from our Furnace Mountain vineyard, and Cabernet Sauvignon from our Tranquility vineyard. Aged 10 months as individual varietals and 12 additional months as a blend in both American and French barrels. This Bordeaux-inspired blend is unfined and unfiltered. A big wine with broad shoulders, big fruit, supple tannins and driving acidity.
2010 Petit Verdot
100% Petit Verdot. This grape may well be the red grape “identity” for Virginia. Our 2010 vintage is fruit forward with robust new oak. Big, round, dense, and chewy.
2012 Sauvignon Blanc
100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes from our Waterford vineyard, half fermented and aged in neutral oak and the other half in stainless steel. Once blended together, the result is a wonderful crisp, yet savory wine with a supple palate and beautiful acidity. With hints of lemongrass and citrus, this wine pairs excellently with all types of seafood.
Similar to our 2011 vintage, but more European in style, our 2012 Chardonnay has some oak characteristics, with solid lean fruit, and beautifully balanced acids. Aged in oak for only four months, the result is a lighter-bodied Chardonnay, more tropical and crisp than buttery.
2011 LoCo Vino
This is a 50/50 blend of Traminette and Vidal Blanc. It is a light-bodied, fresh white wine with overtones of citrus zest, pear and apple. It is cold fermented in stainless steel. Enjoy with cheeses, salads, or crab cakes. It also pairs perfectly with summer evenings on your deck or patio!
2012 Pink Link
100% Merlot grapes from our Furnace Mountain vineyard. These grapes are harvested early with the white grapes and sit on the skins for one day before pressing, giving the wine a soft pink color. Fermented totally dry, this rosé has a huge green strawberry presence on the nose, followed by a full, but soft palate.
