8 Chains North is a beautiful wedding venue in Northern Virginia. After exchanging vows, preserve the first moments as a happily married couple with photos among the vines or barrels and tanks. Then enjoy celebrating with family and friends during your reception in our rustic, yet elegant banquet room. Your guests will enjoy an authentic winery experience with a view of the vineyard and Barrel Room, a stunning sunset, and a delicious selection of 8 Chains North handcrafted wines.

We offer wedding packages for 20–130 guests that suit every budget, so you can have the winery wedding, vow renewal, or elopement of your dreams. What’s Included?

In addition to the perfect setting for your ceremony and reception, pricing includes reception tables and chairs, wine glasses, a manager to oversee your event, and staff to serve your guests.

We’ve curated an extensive list of Preferred Caterers and Vendors familiar with the venue who will ensure your day runs smoothly from start to finish. We require couples to hire a Day-of Coordinator.

Ready Rooms

We provide two Ready Rooms for you, your bridal party, and family to prepare for your special day. Each room has ample space for the perfect balance of glam and relaxation before your big moment.

What is your wedding venue capacity?

130 for a full sitdown wedding

What spaces are available for ceremonies and receptions?

The Compass Rose room is our main event space which seats up to 120 for a full sitdown dinner.
The Vine Room can host up to 45 ppl
The Tasting Room adjacent to the Compass Rose Room
There are many outdoor spaces including wedding space among the vines, a covered patio adjacent to the Compass Rose Room and a deck overlooking the vineyard adjacent to the Vine Room.
The Prodcution Space with its barrels and tanks is available seasonally.

Do you offer indoor and outdoor ceremony options?

What is included in your wedding rental fee?

The space including access and time before and after the event. We provide 5-ft. round tables, indoor chairs, and wine glasses as part of your rental fee Two ready rooms are included in the rental as well. There is no charge for pre-scheduled rehearsal time.

How many hours are included in the rental?

Most evening wedding packages are a total of five hours. Ceremonies usually begin at 6:00 pm and receptions end at 11:00 pm. Grand Cru weddings are allotted additional time. In addition, caterers may have access to the kitchen up to two hours before the event and we allow one hour of cleanup time.

Is there a bridal suite or getting-ready space?

We have two Ready rooms that in cluded in your rental

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, the payments are collected at key dates leading up to your event.

Are there seasonal pricing differences?

Are there noise restrictions?

Regular Loudoun County noise restrictions are enforced which includes a cut off time of 11pm

Do you allow engagement photos onsite?

Yes

Can we bring in outside caterers?

Yes, we have a list of preferred caterers for you to choose from. Bringing someone new may incur an extra charge for time to acclimate the new caterer.

Can we host a farewell brunch?

Yes

Do you allow outside alcohol?

Outside alcohol is prohibited under normal operations. For beer or mixed spirits, you must purchase a one-day banquet license through Virginia ABC.

Do you allow rehearsal dinners?

Yes

Do you offer bar packages?

No, but most of our preferred vendors do

Do you require event insurance?

Yes, we require couples to have general liability insurance that names 8 Chains North as an additional insured.

Do you require in-house catering?

We do not offer in-house catering.

How early can vendors arrive?

Up to 2 hours before the event unless otherwise agreed upon.

Is all alcohol required to be purchased through the winery?

Our wine minimum is one case per 25 guests. We offer a 15% discount full cases. Wine Club members receive 20% off.

What is harvest season like?

Harvest season is hectic and unpredictable. Although it is a beautiful time of year for a wedding, we do our best to work around event dates.

What is the best time of year for a vineyard wedding in Virginia?

Spring or Fall tend to be the best time of year for weather, views and fun activity around the vineyards.

What time do weddings need to end?

Weddings typically end at 11pm, although we do allot parties with extra time as long as noise ordinances can be enforced.

When do the vines have leaves?

Vines have leaves from spring to late fall. Exact dates are determined by Mother Nature.

When is peak fall foliage in Loudoun County?

Typically mid to late October.

Meet Elly Sullivan

I have professionally curated and managed weddings in Virginia for more than 13 years—eight of those at 8 Chains North. I’m delighted to bring my experience and expertise in creating the perfect day for each couple that selects the winery as their wedding venue.

From coordination to design to managing day-of activities, I’ve been intimately involved in all aspects of helping couples achieve their “best day ever.” I’ve had the privilege of working with couples from all walks of life, cultural backgrounds, and geographic locations, as well as those with unique dynamics. I love helping couples find their perfect vibe—from preparation to ceremony through reception. I strive to ensure that the planning and execution of our couples’ weddings are seamless, calm, and super fun!
